AI Chatbots for B2B Compared
Scripted, generative-AI, or AI SDR — how to choose

In short

AI chatbots for B2B fall into three broad types: scripted (rule-based), generative-AI, and AI SDR. If the goal is reducing FAQ volume, scripted or generative-AI tools fit; if the goal is winning sales meetings, an AI SDR that books the meeting inside the chat is the right choice. This page compares seven tools fairly, based on public information.

How we compare

"AI chatbot" is one label covering three different things

The biggest reason chatbot selections go wrong is comparing tools built for different purposes on the same scorecard. This page sorts seven tools by how they respond and what the conversation is for, across six criteria: category, primary purpose, AI conversation, meeting booking, published pricing, and Japanese support. For the conceptual difference, see the companion page "AI Chatbot vs AI SDR."

The three categories

Scripted / generative-AI / AI SDR — what actually differs

Split them along two axes — how they respond (scripts or an LLM) and what the conversation is for (resolution or a booked meeting) — and the seven tools sort into these three types.

Scripted (rule-based)
ChatPlus / sinclo / anybot / HubSpot Chatflows

Answers within pre-designed branches and an FAQ set. Low cost and strong at automating routine questions, it remains a sensible choice for e-commerce and B2C sites with a mature FAQ. The trade-off: it struggles with unexpected questions, and script design and maintenance never really end. Natively carrying a conversation through to a booked meeting is not a typical design.

Generative-AI
Channel Talk (ALF) / Intercom (Fin) / HubSpot (Breeze)

An LLM reads your knowledge (site, documents, FAQ) and answers in free text. It handles varied phrasing well and needs far less script design. But the primary purpose is auto-resolving inquiries (support and customer engagement), and billing is mostly per AI-resolved conversation. In other words, it is built to reduce inquiries — proactive sales conversations that increase meetings sit outside its core scope.

AI SDR
Meeton Chat

The conversation's goal is a booked meeting, not a resolved ticket. The AI carries the visitor end to end — discovering pain points → recommending content that fits the context → gauging intent → booking the meeting inside the chat — and syncs the conversation, interests, and outcome to your CRM automatically. This is the category to choose when your B2B KPI is "meetings from the website."

The tools in detail

Where each of the seven tools is strongest, and who it suits

Every tool here has a situation where it is the right answer. Here is a fair read on each one's strengths and best-fit use cases, based on public information.

Meeton Chat

AI SDR

An AI SDR designed specifically for B2B. The AI opens the conversation within 5 seconds of a visitor arriving, works through discovery, content recommendation, and intent scoring, and books the meeting inside the chat (Google Calendar / Teams / Zoom). The conversation, traffic source, interests, and meeting outcome sync to HubSpot / Salesforce automatically. Install is a single line of JavaScript in as little as 5 minutes, there are no scripts to design, and it runs 24/7/365. Pricing is published, base plan from $999/mo. Customers report a 60%+ meeting-conversion rate (EdulinX), 20x chat-sourced leads (BizteX), and 2x monthly SQLs (G-gen)[1]. A fit for B2B companies whose KPI is meetings from the website.

Channel Talk

Generative-AI (customer engagement / CS)

An all-in-one AI messenger from Korea's Channel Corporation. Its Japan entity was founded in 2015, the product and support are fully localized in Japanese, and the company reports 220,000+ customers worldwide[3]. It unifies customer-facing chat, CRM marketing, and internal chat; the ALF AI agent is metered at ¥50 per chat it resolves autonomously. Pricing is published from a free plan (Early Stage from ¥3,600/mo; Enterprise on request)[2]. With LINE and Instagram integrations and other e-commerce-oriented features, it is a strong choice as an engagement/CS platform for e-commerce and B2C. However, no dedicated meeting-booking feature appears in its official materials, so its design philosophy diverges when B2B meeting conversion is the main goal.

ChatPlus

Scripted (with AI assist)

A chatbot whose strengths are a budget price point and a broad install base in Japan[6]. Scripts are the core; AI responses play a supporting role. It is a practical choice for automating corporate-site FAQs or routing inquiries on a small budget, and suits a small start. Meeting booking relies mainly on external calendar integration rather than native in-chat completion, and CRM integration leans on Webhooks / APIs, so when meeting conversion is the central KPI some of the work still falls to your operations team.

anybot

Scripted (LINE-focused)

A chatbot built around LINE integration, with deep know-how in running LINE Official Accounts and automating B2C campaigns[6]. Where coupons, bookings, and inquiry handling can all live inside the LINE ecosystem, it plays to its real strengths. B2B meeting booking and inside-sales integration, however, sit outside its core scope — it serves a different market from website-driven B2B meeting conversion. A fit for B2C companies where LINE is the core channel.

sinclo

Scripted (rule-based)

A long-established scripted on-site chat tool, widely used for FAQ automation and live-agent handoff[6]. On sites with a mature FAQ where script branches can cover most inquiries, its operational know-how and price point make it a rational choice. It assumes you will design and keep refining branches, conditions, and the FAQ set; AI capability is positioned as a separate option, and multilingual support generally means building separate scripts.

HubSpot Chatflows

Scripted + generative-AI (support)

The rules-based bot builder plus live chat included in HubSpot's free CRM. Its biggest strength is native integration: every conversation is logged to the contact timeline in HubSpot CRM, so companies already on HubSpot get a chat window at almost no added cost[4]. AI conversation is handled by a separate product, Breeze Customer Agent (support-focused, outcome-based at $0.50 per resolution from April 2026) — not an AI SDR agent built for meeting conversion. In-bot meeting booking is a booking-link handoff by default, and visitors are redirected to the booking page when custom question fields are present[4].

Intercom

Generative-AI (support)

A global customer-support platform headlined by its Fin AI agent, which claims a 67% inquiry resolution rate (company-reported, 40M+ cumulative resolutions)[5]. Omnichannel coverage and enterprise readiness are further strengths, making it the standard answer when you need to auto-resolve a high volume of existing-customer support inquiries. Pricing is published: $29–132 per seat/mo plus Fin at $0.99 per resolution[5]. It is a primarily English product whose main purpose is automating support for existing customers, so it solves a different problem from winning meetings with new leads.

How to choose

Four ways to choose, working backwards from your goal

Rather than matching feature lists, work backwards from your own KPI — it is the surest method.

Your goal is reducing FAQ and support load

Generative-AI is the first candidate. For large-scale existing-customer support, Intercom (Fin); for Japanese e-commerce and customer engagement, Channel Talk (ALF). If you are on HubSpot, Breeze Customer Agent is also an option.

You want to automate routine inquiries on a small budget

Scripted (rule-based) is the realistic pick. With a mature FAQ, ChatPlus or sinclo; if LINE Official Account is your core channel, anybot. If you already use HubSpot CRM, starting with the free Chatflows is also sensible.

Your KPI is B2B sales meetings

AI SDR. You need a design that goes beyond FAQ answers and carries the visitor through discovery → content recommendation → meeting booking → CRM sync. Meeton Chat is built entirely around meeting conversion: first response in 5 seconds, 24/7/365.

The option of running both

Splitting the work — generative-AI for support, AI SDR for converting new leads into meetings — genuinely works. Asking one tool to both reduce inquiries and increase meetings usually sacrifices one of the two KPIs.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

5 of 5
How should a B2B team choose an AI chatbot?
The shortcut is to pick a category based on what you want to automate. If the goal is cutting routine FAQ volume, a low-cost scripted (rule-based) tool fits. If the goal is auto-resolving support inquiries, choose a generative-AI tool. If the goal is winning sales meetings from your website, choose an AI SDR that carries the conversation all the way to a booked meeting. Before comparing features tool by tool, lock in your own KPI (fewer inquiries, or more meetings?) — that is the surest way to avoid a mis-buy.
What is the difference between a scripted chatbot and a generative-AI chatbot?
A scripted (rule-based) chatbot answers within pre-designed branches and an FAQ set. It is inexpensive and strong on routine questions, but weak on anything unexpected, and the scripts need ongoing design and maintenance. A generative-AI chatbot uses an LLM that reads your knowledge base and answers in free text, so it handles varied phrasing well and needs far less script design. That said, most generative-AI chatbots are built to resolve inquiries, not to sell.
Can generative-AI chatbots (Intercom, Channel Talk, etc.) increase sales meetings?
Some contribute, but their primary purpose is different. Intercom's Fin and Channel Talk's ALF are optimized to auto-resolve inquiries (support and customer engagement), and they are billed per resolution. Sales actions such as discovering pain points, recommending content, gauging intent, and steering toward a booked meeting fall outside their core scope. If booked meetings are your KPI, choose an AI SDR; if reducing support load is the goal, choose a generative-AI tool.
What is an AI SDR chatbot?
An AI chat whose goal is creating sales opportunities rather than answering questions. It talks with visitors to surface their challenges, recommends content that fits the context, and the moment intent rises it presents a calendar inside the chat and books the meeting. Meeton Chat is this type, and it syncs the conversation, interests, and meeting outcome to HubSpot / Salesforce automatically. For a deeper look at the conceptual difference, see our "AI Chatbot vs AI SDR" explainer.
Does it make sense to run more than one type?
Yes. Because the roles differ, combining them is rational. For example, hand existing-customer support to a generative-AI tool (Intercom, Channel Talk, etc.) and let an AI SDR (Meeton Chat) handle converting new leads into meetings. Trying to make one tool do both usually sacrifices one of the two KPIs.
